خلاصه داستان : داستان فیلم، نگاهی شاعرانه دارد. بازیگران اصلی آن از هشت زن آفریقایی-آمریکایی تشکیل شده اند، هفت نفر از آن ها در نقش کسانی بازی می کنند که با یک رنگ شناخته می شوند ( مثل بانوی قرمز، بانوی آبی، بانوی زرد و ...)، هر کدام از آن ها هم با توجه به اسمی که دارند، شخصیت و مشکلات متفاوتی همانند عشق، دل کندن، تجاوز، خیانت و سقط جنین را نیز دارا می باشند.
