خلاصه داستان : شینپی آجیرو بعد از مرگ والدینش با خواهران کوفونه زندگی میکرده: میو و اوشیو. ولی نقل مکان میکنه که تنهایی در توکیو زندگی کنه. ولی بعد از این که اوشیو در حالی که میخواسته شیوری کوبایاکاوای جوان رو نجات بده، غرق میشه، برای عزاداریش به خونه برمیگرده. با این حال، کبودی های اطراف گردن اوشیو، دلیل مرگش رو مبهم میکنه. شینپی باور داره که توضیح دیگه ای در کار هست. موجودات عجیب در میان اهالی جزیره قدم میزنن و تصویری از اوشیو به عنوان درخواست آخرش از شینپی ازش میخواد که میو رو نجات بده. شینپی مطمئنه که یه جای کار میلنگه و مرگ اوشیو فقط یک تکه از پازله. با کمک میو و تعدادی دیگه، شینپی توی ساخت آینده ای که خودش و عزیزانش زنده باشن تقلا میکنه...
